Talia Undercover Review

A fake name, a biotech firm hiding secrets, and a cover that gets very hands-on.

Our Verdict

A welcome change of genre that gives the catalog a rare spy-thriller frame. The intrigue is more backdrop than hard-edged plot, but Talia makes a confident lead and the low cost to finish makes it easy to recommend as a sampler.

What is Talia Undercover about?

Using an assumed identity, Talia Reed gets hired at a shadowy international biotech company. Her brief sounds simple: uncover whatever the firm is concealing behind its paperwork and slip away before anyone catches on. The assignment drifts off course almost immediately, as keeping her cover intact pulls her much nearer to her targets than she ever intended.

Think corporate spying with a seductive, slightly tongue-in-cheek edge, one of the few Candy Shorts titles built around a mystery and a crime angle rather than a family secret. Nobody in the building is clearly safe to trust, which keeps a low hum of paranoia under the flirtation. Five quick episodes cover one mission, not a sprawling case. It is a good match for viewers drawn to a heroine hiding her true purpose and a workplace with real risk in the air.
