Dream Companion AI (MyDreamCompanion) is an NSFW AI companion platform that added its own short-series section in October 2026. In this Dream Companion review, our editors explain what you get, how the MDC Shorts work, what you really pay and whether the platform is safe to use. What is Dream Companion AI?

Dream Companion AI is first and foremost a companion app. You chat with AI characters, trade spicy audio messages, make voice calls, generate images and video, and build custom characters of your own. Newer “Dream Experiences” add Dream Cams (live AI cam characters), Dream Roulette and Dream Feed. It is a web app that you can add to your phone’s home screen.

The shorts are the newest piece. If you found us while looking for AI short series, think of Dream Companion as a companion platform that now has a short-series section, not the other way around. Every character, in the chat tools and in the shorts, is a fictional AI-generated adult, and the platform is for adults only.

MDC Shorts: Dream Companion’s AI mini-dramas

MDC Shorts is the platform’s section for AI mini-drama series in vertical video. It launched in October 2026 in the “New Dream Experiences” row and has its own page. Today the library holds 3 series and 16 episodes, all Dream Companion originals. Episodes are short, about 1 to 1.7 minutes each, or roughly 6.5 minutes per series.

Is Dream Companion free?

Partly. Trying the shorts costs nothing. Episode 1 plays without an account on Hot Friend’s Mom Wants Me and Cozy Nights With My Stepbrother, while Secret Affair asks for a free account from episode 1. Episode 2 is free with a free account on all three series. That is 2 free episodes per series and 6 free episodes across the library.

From episode 3 onward you need Premium plus 10 Dream Coins per episode. So when people ask whether Dream Companion is free, the honest answer is that it is free to try, not free to finish. Start with the free episodes and only subscribe if the style works for you.

Dream Companion AI pricing and Dream Coins

Dream Companion has two paid plans, and Dream Coins are its currency for unlocking episodes.

Premium costs $11.99 per month, or $69.99 per year (about $5.83 per month). It includes 100 Dream Coins per month, unlimited messages, spicy audio messages, image and video generation and voice calls, and the yearly plan adds a limited-time bonus of 100 extra coins in the first month. Ultimate costs $44.99 per month, or $299.88 per year (about $24.99 per month), with 800 Dream Coins per month plus priority generation, extended chat memory, advanced AI models and longer video generation. Yearly plans are advertised at up to 70% off.

Here is the math that matters for the shorts. The whole MDC Shorts library has only 10 locked episodes, and each costs 10 coins, so unlocking everything takes 100 coins. The “unlock the rest” bundles bring that down to 74 coins: 22 instead of 30 for a 5-episode series, and 30 instead of 40 for the 6-episode series. Because Premium includes 100 coins per month, one month of Premium ($11.99) unlocks the entire MDC Shorts catalog. Unlocked episodes stay on your account.

In cost-per-locked-episode terms, that is about $1.20 on monthly Premium and about $0.58 on yearly Premium. For comparison, Candy AI is about $1.68 monthly and $0.48 annual, and Secrets AI is about $1.25 monthly and $0.57 annual. Dream Companion is the cheapest way to finish a whole library, mostly because the library is so small. Ultimate is not needed for the shorts. It only makes sense if you want the upgraded companion tools.

Is Dream Companion safe and legit?

This is the question we hear most: is Dream Companion (also searched as MyDreamCompanion) legit? In our review it works the way it describes itself. The free episodes really are free, locked episodes cost a fixed 10 Dream Coins, and the plans and prices are laid out before you pay.

On payments, Dream Companion accepts credit and debit cards, including prepaid cards, and does not accept PayPal. A prepaid card is a handy way to cap what you spend.
