Room 742 Review

What is Room 742 about?

A tired guest swipes a keycard, the lock clicks, and room 742 swings open to reveal a stranger already inside. The sensible move is to apologize and leave. The guest stays. A few moments later there is a rap at the door: the stranger’s wife, calm and completely unsurprised, because the mix-up was never a mistake. She chose the guest herself, and she has no plans to send anyone away. She wants to watch.

Seen through the newcomer’s eyes, the series turns a hotel accident into a carefully designed arrangement, with the wife as the quiet architect holding all the power. It runs on implication and restraint, letting silences and glances do much of the work. This is a fit for viewers who enjoy a reveal, a voyeuristic edge and an unconventional couple, rather than a conventional romance.
