Pleasure Island Review

What is Pleasure Island about?

Evangelina Kontos has barely exchanged hellos with Chad, her stepfather’s strikingly good-looking younger brother, and the spark between them is immediate and awkward. They are related only through marriage, but the family line still makes it feel off-limits.

Instead of steering clear of each other, they set off together for a boat party where bikinis are standard and nobody is keeping score. Out on open water, miles from the relatives, the usual rules fade fast. The series leans on sun, music and atmosphere far more than on plot, playing its taboo angle as a loud, carefree holiday fling rather than a tense secret. It is a fit for viewers who want a light, summery escape with a forbidden edge, and who care more about mood and setting than twists.
