I Dated My Best Friend Mom Review

What is I Dated My Best Friend Mom about?

Jake treats a dating-app profile as a gag when he recognizes his best friend’s mother, played by Josie Villanueva, and swipes right for laughs. The punchline backfires: she had liked him first, and one night together leaves him carrying a secret that could cost him his closest friendship. Then her grown daughter turns up, fully informed about what happened, and Jake finds himself squeezed between two women who each hold leverage over him.

The tone sits somewhere between bedroom farce and guilty thriller. It races from the swipe to the morning after, then pivots on the daughter’s arrival, which gives the back half a genuine second gear instead of more of the same. Heat is moderate by platform standards, with the focus on awkwardness and near misses. A good pick for viewers who like a comic edge on their taboo stories and a modern hook to get things started.
