I Picked Up a Hitchhiker Review

What is I Picked Up a Hitchhiker about?

Colette Ramsey is stranded on a sun-baked stretch of desert blacktop, nothing coming for miles, when a beat-up pickup finally slows down. The driver is as unremarkable as they come, and he knows it. She climbs in anyway, and the two strangers share a bench seat, an open window and a long, empty horizon with nowhere else to be.

There is no stepfamily, no boss and no secret to protect here, just a chance encounter and the slow rise of chemistry between strangers whose lives would otherwise never overlap. The desert gives it a look unlike the living-room interiors that dominate the catalog, and the everyman angle adds a light, wish-fulfillment humor. Later episodes turn very explicit. It works best for viewers who want a simple, self-contained fantasy and can live without twists or a supporting cast.
